A Summer Hike To Mt. Baldy -- A Favorite Pastime
Shore Breakfast At Esrey Park.
Gathering with extended family and friends at Esrey Park on a crisp late summer morn for the annual "end of season" shore breakfast. Children scamper happily over rocks while adults, sipping orange juice and bloody marys, huddle about the crackling fire as they prepare hot, richly aromatic, skillets of eggs to order, thick fried bacon, richly seasoned hash browns, garnished indian corn, and racks of saffron toast smothered with thimbleberry jam. All consumed with Norwegian bachelor farmer coffee. Dishes are scoured on the pebble beach as the year's rock skipping champions are crowned. After site cleanup and the obligatory group photo, we tuck the warm fuzzies into our memory banks and depart for the Harbor. (George Hite)
