EAGLE HARBOR TOWNSHIP BOARD
July 9, 2001
CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The regular meeting of the Eagle Harbor Township Board was called to order at 7 p.m. on July 9, 2001 by Supervisor James Boggio, at the Schoolhouse/Community Building in Eagle Harbor. Supervisor Boggio led the Pledge of Allegiance.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Supervisor Boggio, Clerk Olson, Treasurer Johnson, Trustees Ellis and Lantz
MEMBERS ABSENT: None
AGENDA APPROVAL AND ADDITIONS –Supervisor Boggio requested an addition to the agenda of Construction Projects for General Maintenance (John Clarkson)
CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL MM/S Ellis/Olson to approve the consent agenda as presented.

SUPERVISOR’S REMARKS AND CORRESPONDENCE
:COMMITTEE REPORTS
BEACH COMMITTEE – Fred and Colleen Geis – No Report
CEMETERY COMMITTEE – Ginny Schubert – No Report
SEXTON COMMENTS –Mike Braman – Pretty quiet at the Cemetery. There is one more burial scheduled on July 20.
HEBARD PLAT COMMITTEE – Jeane Olson – The Committee has met with both property owners involved at the East end of the plat and that problem seems to be solved. There is a meeting set up with one of the property owners at the west end of the plat. One property owner has refused to meet with us and the third property owner is trying to work out something with that property owner on his own.
LAND USE COMMITTEE - Doug Sherk – There was no quorum at the June zoning meeting so he will attend the next zoning meeting to present letters from the Township. There will be a combined Land Use Committee meeting at the Allouez Township Community Building on July 17 at 7 p.m. There will also be a community input meeting on Tuesday, July 31 at 7 p.m. at the Eagle Harbor Schoolhouse/ Community Building.
911 COMMITTEE - Doug Schubert – The 911 project is being paid for with funds from cell phone charges. It will not cost the residents anything. The streets have been named and sent to the county for approval. Mailing addresses will be the same as the 911 street addresses. The project should be finished in about a year.
PARK COMMITTEE – George Hite – Absent – James Boggio reported that the Township has purchased 169 acres for recreation purposes.
RECREATION COMMITTEE – Barb Sickler – Thanks to all 46 volunteers who helped to make the Fourth of July a success. There were 116 entries in the parade. The Popeye run was also a success with 98 runners and walkers participating. Canoe races were rescheduled for Saturday August 4th at 11 a.m. because of the weather.
SOLID WASTE COMMITTEE – Bruce Olson – No Report. Marilyn Marshall asked if there would be a large dumpster brought in this year. Supervisor Boggio explained that it was not practical or profitable to bring in a dumpster and that we could not get anyone willing to work at the dumpsite for that project.
VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT – Mike Radigan – Absent – No Report
WATER COMMITTEE – John Wakeman – The Water Committee met Saturday June 23, at 10 a.m. at the Township Hall. Items on the agenda were the water tank site, M-26 water line extension, and acceptance of the water main to Eagle Harbor South.
WATER SYSTEM OPERATOR – Rick Finke – 23 water samples were sent to be tested this month. Tests were for copper, lead, nitrates, nitrites, sulphites and many other minerals. All the tests came back okay. Our water is perfectly safe to drink. We also passed a DEQ inspection on our water system.
WELLHEAD PROTECTION – Rick Finke – With the purchase of the land for the recreation area we now have 169 acres of land surrounding our wellhead site.

MM/S Olson/Ellis to adopt a resolution to abandon said road. Roll call vote: Ayes-Lantz, Johnson, Ellis, Boggio, and Olson
Nays-None. Resolution adopted.

MM/S Lantz/Ellis to proceed with shelter for restroom door. Ayes-5, Nays-0
Motion carried
MM/S Johnson/Lantz to proceed with Schoolhouse backroom and
entry. Ayes-5, Nays-0 Motion Carried.
