MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: 7:00 PM by Supervisor, Jim Boggio

MINUTES: October 14, 1996 reviewed: motion to accept, Van Pelt, supported by Johnson,

vote unanimous

TREASURER'S REPORT: Reviewed; motion to accept, Van Pelt, supported by, Clarkson,

vote unanimous

BILLS: Reviewed November expenditures, motion to accept, Van Pelt, supported by Johnson,

vote unanimous.

SUPERVISOR'S REMARKS AND CORRESPONDENCE: 1) Award Presentation: to be

postponed, 2) Oath of Office: Jim Boggio, Supervisor, Gerald Johnson, Treasurer,

John Clarkson, Clerk, Peter Van Pelt, Trustee, Donald Keith, Trustee, Ann Johnson,

Deputy Treasurer, Nancy Clarkson, Deputy Clerk sworn in by Bruce Olson, resident of

Eagle Harbor (Tax Assessor, Robert Taylor, was absent and will be sworn in at the

next township meeting) 3) Reduction of Insurance Rating: Read letter from CRS,

Insurance Underwriters regarding the reduction of our fire classification.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Volunteer Fire Department - Mike Radigan (Absent)

VFD Auxiliary - Anna Royce (Absent)

Water & Well-head Committee - John Wakeman (Nothing to report)

Cemetery Committee - John Pippenger (Absent)

Solid Waste Committee - Barb Radigan (Absent)

1) Board discussed issue regarding clean-up of landfill area, 2) need

a volunteer to chair the Solid Waste Committee; to be appointed at

a future meeting

Beach Committee - Fred Kellow (Absent)

Recreation Committee - Barb Sickler (Absent)

OLD BUSINESS

be reviewed at a future meeting

the Erickson Estate; currently in probate; should be some action in the near future




NEW BUSINESS

the Clerk for use of the landfill building this winter at a rate of $25.00/month. An approval

of three board members was met and approval was granted. Further discussion pursued

regarding this issue and a letter was read and discussed from a concerned resident.

2) Waiting for a clear lease 3) Proposal for building of a unit by resident, Bill Jackson, is

still pending

supported by Van Pelt, vote unanimous

PUBLIC COMMENT

suggested that a petition be sent around to the other Gratiot Lake residents showing the

majority who want it, also, where they'd like to have a light installed. The township will put one in for them.
